Tuesday Treasures

The-Blessings-of-God

Today’s Tuesday Treasure is a gift that was given to us when we moved into our third home by my husband’s second cousin, Jim and his wife, Peggy. It sits on our kitchen mantlepiece, and is a constant reminder that God’s blessings do crown our house. It has been securely packaged during every move since then, and it has survived four moves, even the last move when the furniture removalists all but destroyed lots of our furnishings and fittings – clothes drier, table and five of the six chairs, dressing table, strereo player and nebuliser. Take my advice – if you’re moving house, pay the extra for the insurance, for if you don’t, you will be severely out of pocket.

Today’s “treasure” is not an expensive one, but it has much sentimental value for us, and is a constant reminder of God’s blessings over our home, that our work is blessed and that our house is prospered by the Lord.

Jillian, it is often those small things with the least value that mean the most. It is a beautiful gift to be given.

I have only ever been moved as part of our jobs so we haven’t had any troubles with damaged goods but it must be horrible to open a book and see the breakages.

    God Bless
    JO xx

  2. You have received so very lovely, thoughtful gifts over the years. I love it when we receive special gifts such as the one above.

It’s great to have little reminders like that around the home. The words are so true!

You certainly have some lovely treasures that have precious sentimental value :)

You have a lot of lovely keepsakes. it is special when we look around our homes and have little bits and pieces which have been given to us by special people in our lives. I actually don’t have a lot of such, but I do have a lot of photos around.

    Hi Jo,
It is the most inexpensive items in our home that do mean the most to us. :D

We moved around with the intention of one day owning our own home, and when God placed us here, it is the one that had everything that we asked for, and we own it. :D

    Have a wonderful week,
    God bless you, Jillian ♥

    Hi Heather,
I love it when we receive special gifts, too, and it is the love that accompanies them that makes it special. :)

    Have a wonderful week,
    God bless you, Jillian ♥

    Hi Sarah,
Yes, they are, but not because the gift is expensive, but because of the love accompanying the gift. :D

    Have a wonderful week,
    God bless you, Jillian ♥

    Hi Amanda,
It is the sentimental value that makes the “treasures” so special, as the items have no significant wordly worth. :D

    Have a wonderful week,
Love and God bless you, Jillian ♥

    Hi Ruby,
I think that it is because we have moved around so much that we have accumulated lots of different keepsakes from different people, people who have touched our lives immensely. :)

I also have lots of photos, but I’m not going to place them on the internet. ;)

    Have a wonderful week,
    God bless you, Jillian ♥
