Lemon and Ginger Tea – Finally!

Green Tea Talk

Now, I know that it’s not Thursday, but I’m running waaaay behind time once again. Nevertheless, I’m here, and today:

I’m having:~

A Lemon and Ginger tea with a Wagon Wheel, thanks to Ruby and Jeanne. Yes, I finally stopped procrastinating and bought it on Thursday, and I’m so glad that I did – it smells absolutely delicious – sort of like a hot home-made Ginger beer – YUMMY!

Lemon & Ginger Tea with a WagonWheel

My Mug is:~

One that my fried, Janice, gave to me a very long time ago, and it is fine bone china – the sort that makes you feel very sophisticated and is delightful to drink out of.

I’m Feeling:~

Very blessed that Jesus thinks me worthy of giving His life for me. May I seek to always walk worthy of His calling, never causing my fellow sister or brother in Christ to stumble because of my words or actions.

On My Mind:~

Friendships, and how important it is to cultivate those friendships – just as the ground will not bring forth it’s blessings without careful planting, watering, nurturing, and watching it grow, so it is with our friendships. They, too, need careful attention and then, and only then, can the friendship blossom and grow. I praise God for the friends He has brought into my life – the people who have helped me to grow just a little more like Jesus every day!

“Wishing to be friends

is quick work,

but friendship is

a slow-ripening fruit.”

Well, I am very glad I popped over! It is a delicious drop isn’t it. Very soothing and refreshing. It is 5pm here but I will enjoy a cup with you *and hubbu) after tea, this is dinner, tonight.
Thanks also for the thoughts on friendship which has been an ongoing matter of contemplation, prayer and praise for me lately.
I am so thankful that God sets the solitary in families and brings along friends to help bear our burdens. Meanwhile we are learning all the time about being good friends ourselves through our Lord.
    Blessings!
    Ruby

    Hi Ruby,
It is very delicious – thank you for introducing me to it. :)

Friendship is so important, isn’t it? Amanda also posted on friendship in unity, and this was an excellent post. It seems that when God wants to instil something into us that He does it surreptitiously, and reinforces it – sometimes many times over. Perhaps that is because I need that reinforcement to learn effectively??!

Have a wonderful and blessed Easter,
    Love, Jillian ♥

What a lovely and refreshing little meme!

Even though, in all likelihood, we won’t get to share a nice cuppa like that in real life, it is lovely to enjoy one together over our blog pages. ;)

The friendships forged here, are no less precious than those in real life. Each one is a treasure to me…

    Hi Jillian,
This is a lovely post. I love everything you wrote here. Your mug is beautiful. The flower matches your table cloth. And your tea sounds really yummy.

I’m in a hectic week here but I’m just glad I stopped by.

    Have a blessed holy week.

    Hi Jillian,
I need to try that tea, I think you’ve sold it to me:)
Yes, friendship is something I’ve been pondering on lately too….thanks for the thoughts you posted about it.
    Happy Easter,
    Rosemary

    Hi Amanda,
    I like this Meme!

Maybe one day we shall share a cuppa in real life – you never know. ;)

Friendships forged over the internet, especially ours, are ones that I treasure with my whole ♥. :D

    Love and blessings,

    Hi Ruth,
It has been such a hectic week for us, with doctor’s appointments and physio appointments, but I did finally manage to get my blogpost for your Meme done, albeit a day late. :D

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me.
Have a wonderful and blessed Easter,
    Love, Jillian ♥

    Hi Rosemary,
It takes me a while to gain the courage to try anything new, but I do really like this tea. :)

Friendship is so important, and friends that I have made over the internet are really special. It’s sometimes hard to find the exact right word to express the meaning that I want to convey, but I’m getting better at it. I LOVE MY INTERNET FRIENDS!!! :D

Have a wonderful and blessed Easter,
    Love, Jillian ♥

You just reminded me that I boiled the kettle over an hour ago to have a Jasmine Tea (the only tea I drink) but my husband wanted me to go to Bunnings with him – and I can never go there and not buy a plant (its one of my favourite shops)- I bought 2 plants plus a pot and I have only just finished potting them. So I better boil that kettle again and enjoy the cuppa whilst I read these wonderful blogs.

Thanks for reminding me – love and blessings this Easter

  10. Jillian says:

    Hi Jo,
Oh, I love going to Bunnings whenever we get to the city, which isn’t all that often, but I love looking at the plants, seeing what would work where we live, as the temperatures here vary from minus eight in winter to 47C in summer! Plants have to be tough to survive here.

Is Jasmine tea very strong? I have often wanted to try it, but if it’s like the plant, it would kill me – the plant is VERY strong! We have one growing near the back door, and when it’s flowering, I need to take a breath before walking anywhere near it and not breathe again until well clear of it, but it’s beautiful, and it grows very well here.

Have a wonderful and blessed Easter,
    Love, Jillian ♥

Jasmine tea is really a form of green tea but tastes much nicer (so is healthy for you). It does contain Jasmine but you can’t taste or smell it. I buy mine (in bulk) from a Asian supermarket (made in China) as I don’t like the ones made by Twinnings etc. I use to drink coffee but I caught the nasty flu last year and from then on I just didn’t like the taste of coffee. I drink it with a splash of milk – you aren’t meant to!!!

Our location is a little like yours we get very cold (frosty) winters and hot dry summers (not quite 47C) and a low rain fall so I find it hard to grow certain things but after doing a lot of work in the garden eg bringing in new soil, LOTS of regular mulching I have managed to grow quite a dense garden with a mix of native and English garden plants.

  12. Jillian says:

    Hi Jo,
Thank you for that – I shall have to try Jasmine tea – I like Green tea, but only Dilmah, as I don’t like Twining’s. :)

Our garden is gradually growing, but I have had a Polygala drop dead just recently, and they are supposed to be hardy. :(

The garden that we have here is also a mix of native and English garden plants (mostly Lavender), and I don’t like weeding, so we mulch the garden with pine bark – suppresses weeds and is cheap.

    Love and blessings,
    Jillian ♥
