White Screen of Doom

Compute-This

My blog is finally up and running again, thanks to Stephen, who is about the third person to try and fix it, but was the only one who could.

Many thanks also to Susan, who also offered up her husband’s assistance, but I felt that since my son’s “friends” were already working on it, it would be hard to start all over and may have been unethical, if you know what I mean, and that white screen terrified me! I was sure that I had lost everything – all my blog posts, friend comments etc. forever.

We migrated hosts last Friday and all of the posts on the front page weren’t working, and all of the back end stuff wasn’t working. You could see it, but it wouldn’t work because it had all of the old user names throughout the code and also in the data base prefixes. Then my son deleted that account and created another one with the same user name as the old account and one of my sons’ freelancers migrated it all over again. While we were changing hosts, I couldn’t even publish your comments because they wouldn’t have been there when we updated hosts.

AAArgh! Floods of tears! Everything was working but there was a white screen of doom when we tried to log in to the admin page. This afternoon Stephen came to the rescue and it’s all fixed – I’m not changing servers ever again!

Praise You Almighty God…

Praise

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples that
He is risen from the dead;
and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28

  • That you sent your only Son to die in my place, a substitutionary sacrifice – the Passover Lamb, so that I could live. Crucifixion was one of the most barbaric and cruellest of deaths, and yet, Jesus endured it that we might live. On the third day, He was risen from the dead and Jesus lives right here – in my ♥! This was the fulfilment of the Old Covenant and the starting of the New Covenant. His death gives us eternal life!
  • For excellent medical practitioners, who seek to keep us fit and healthy. On Friday we all had a doctor’s appointment, so that we could have the ‘flu and Swine ‘flu vaccinations, but the doctor said that the rest of the family could have them, but not me, as I had a severe allergic reaction to the last Fluvax that I had, and was in hospital for three weeks. However, the doctor did say that my family could show their love by having the vaccination, which would prevent them from bringing home the ‘flu virus. Yay – I feel loved!
  • For my husband and his ice-cream making ability – he made a batch of home-made Goats’ Milk Ice-Cream this afternoon, and it is absolutely delicious. For now, his pain management is under control, and I praise God for answered prayer, for helping my husband to be able to walk easily.
  • For warm, autumn weather – enabling us to keep our store of wood for the colder winter months. For the moment, we are using a bar heater if it gets too cold in the evenings, and of course, there’s always the option of an early night if it’s colder than that.
  • For friends, such as Janice, who is coming up to spend some time with us and helping us to cut firewood. Talk about friendship – I love this lady to pieces, and such love she has for us, that she is willing to take time out of her busy schedule to help us cut and load firewood. Of course I praise God for all our friends – internet, blogging and IRL friends, too.
  • That we have helpful children, who without being asked will: -
  1. Water the strawberries and parsley.
  2. Milk and feed the goats.
  3. Vacuum and mop our home, and that is such a BIG job.
  4. Do dishes without arguing.
  5. Keep their rooms tidy.
  6. Do their schoolwork without having to be told.
  7. Clean the shower and bath.
  8. Clean their bedrooms and help with the rest of the housework.
  9. Help with the cooking – making delicious cakes and stews.
  • Physiotherapists, who work closely alongside doctors – I now have patches for my back pain, which sure makes everyday living a whole lot more bearable.

I pray that you have a wonderful and blessed Easter, as we commemorate the work completed on the Cross for us.

If…

Friendship

If
I happened to show up on your door step
Crying,

Would
You Care?

If
I called you and asked you to pick me up
Because something Happened,

Would
You come?

If
I had one day left, to live my
Life;

Would
You be part of That
Last

Day?

If
I needed a shoulder to cry
On,

Would
You give me Yours?

Relationship of Eyes

Do
You know what the relationship is between
Your two eyes? They blink together, they
Move together, they cry together,
They see things together and they
Sleep together,

BUT
THEY NEVER SEE EACH
OTHER

that’s
What friendship is.

Life
Is lonely
Without FRIENDS.

What does God’s Word say about friendship?

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. John 15: 13-15

Jesus lay down His life for His friends (us) – I wonder how many of us, me included, could say the same thing. How many of our friends would we be willing to lay down our life for? Yet, Jesus sets the precedent, and tells us that we need to love one another as He has loved us, and that we are His friends if we do whatever He commands us to do. His command to us is to

Lemon and Ginger Tea – Finally!

Green Tea Talk

Now, I know that it’s not Thursday, but I’m running waaaay behind time once again. Nevertheless, I’m here, and today:

I’m having:~

A Lemon and Ginger tea with a Wagon Wheel, thanks to Ruby and Jeanne. Yes, I finally stopped procrastinating and bought it on Thursday, and I’m so glad that I did – it smells absolutely delicious – sort of like a hot home-made Ginger beer – YUMMY!

Lemon & Ginger Tea with a WagonWheel

My Mug is:~

One that my fried, Janice, gave to me a very long time ago, and it is fine bone china – the sort that makes you feel very sophisticated and is delightful to drink out of.

I’m Feeling:~

Very blessed that Jesus thinks me worthy of giving His life for me. May I seek to always walk worthy of His calling, never causing my fellow sister or brother in Christ to stumble because of my words or actions.

On My Mind:~

Friendships, and how important it is to cultivate those friendships – just as the ground will not bring forth it’s blessings without careful planting, watering, nurturing, and watching it grow, so it is with our friendships. They, too, need careful attention and then, and only then, can the friendship blossom and grow. I praise God for the friends He has brought into my life – the people who have helped me to grow just a little more like Jesus every day!

is quick work,

but friendship is

a slow-ripening fruit.”
