Why Footprints Diary?

Footprints is a very special poem to me, as it is during the most difficult times of my life that I have felt Jesus’ presence the most. He literally picks me up and carries me through the tough times, and it is only through my faith and trust in Him that He carries me and shelters me from life’s storms. He is literally the wind beneath my wings, and I feel honoured that He considers me worthy of carrying me. This version of  Footprints in the Sand, written by Margaret Fishback Powers is my favourite version – there are others, but this one just speaks to my ♥, as the flowing words are very similar to the King James Version of the Bible .

This poem has been especially poignant and relevant just recently, as we have had friends of ours in hospital – Gwenda, our friend from Tumby Bay and my mum. They are both out of hospital, now, and I praise God once more for answered prayer. Things were more than a little hectic there for a while, but our God never lets us down. He is always there for us, as long as we take the time to rely wholly and solely on Him. There were times when I thought that this blog was no more than a pipe dream, especially when I had to edit about 75%  of the posts that we imported, as they weren’t displaying properly, but God promises that He will never give us more than we can handle, and that He will never leave us nor forsake us. It is through these times that He has carried me … once again, and I’m sure that it won’t be the last time!

Our God truly is an awesome God!

  1. I sorry that it’s been a rough lately. I was concerned when you weren’t posting and was glad to see a post today.

The new blog is beautiful, and I really like the theme. Footprints in the Sand is a wonderful poem. My mom gave me a bookmark with the poem and a small footprint pin shortly before she passed away.

And here I was thinking you were just quiet, busy getting your new blog up & running & all this other stuff was happening! OH. My. Next time I won’t make assumptions that all is well & you are just busy! Love, love, love the *new you*! Your son is very clever. What a wonderful birthday present!

    Hi Ganeida,
Thank you – my son’s design skills have certainly improved over the last couple of years. I LOVE my birthday present! :D

I’m so sorry that I just didn’t have the time to even think about posting a blog post, but I’m back, now. :)

Everybody is on the mend, and I feel as if life is just a little bit slower, which I’m not complaining about, mind you.

    Have a great week,
    Blessings,
    Jillian

    Hi Heather,
I’m so sorry that I couldn’t post, but life was so hectic that I barely had time to think. My friend, Gwenda is out of hospital and so is my mum, and they are feeling much better.

Footprints is our central theme, and we even have the Footprints poem in our “little house”. I love the way that Jesus carries us through the difficult times. I’m sure that you treasure the Footprint pin that your mum gave you.

    Have a great week,
    Blessings,
    Jillian

Glad to hear that things are settling down again after rough times! I love this old song,

I pray that your home life will settle down, too. :)

My son has a real talent for web design, and he loves doing it, too.

I presume that to follow someone on WordPress that you would add the RSS feed to your reader. I follow all of my blogs on Google reader, as I have found it the easiest one to use.
