God’s Provision
The last week my husband and son have been cutting and stacking firewood, as one of the local farmers said that we could have all of the wood in one of his paddocks. What a blessing! My husband cuts the wood with the chainsaw, and my son loads it into the trailer.
Then, when they arrive home my husband puts the long lengths of wood through the sawbench, which sure saves a lot of stress on the chainsaw. It is so much quicker putting the wood through the sawbench, too. Our woodshed is starting to look as if we might have enough wood for winter, now. In this area the temperature plummets to minus eight celsius in winter, but in summer it soars to a mighty forty-seven degrees celsius.
I praise God for the beautiful, warm and sunny autumn days so that we can replenish our wood supply. In the Old Testament times, the only wood that was allowed to be cut down were trees not bearing fruit. We don’t cut down any trees – we just clean up the wood that has fallen in the farmer’s paddocks. Today was 26C, and it was an absolutely splendid day, although our old stone home is already starting to feel the effects of the weather cooling down. I praise God that He knows what we have need of before we even ask, and that He provides all that we need!

I am a daughter of the King of Kings, seeking to live a godly life and mirror the love of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Dear Jillian,
How blessed you are
We need a lot of wood too. We have our wood burning stove to cook on all year round and then we have an open fire as well as another combustion fire place and a huge brick open fire place.
We need a lot of wood.
I would love to have that farmer here.
God Bless
Hi Gae,
Our new chainsaw weighs 6 kilograms, and my son would have trouble holding it up for too long.
Yes, the Lord has truly blessed us – my husband gets his knee replacement in August, and we really do need the wood before then.
It sounds as if your home uses almost as much wood as ours does. Do you still cook on a wood stove even in summer?
I hope that you have a wonderful and blessed weekend,
Love Jillian ♥
Dear Jillian
I love open fires, but when we were deciding on how to heat our house we went for central gas heating which can warm an entire house within 10 mins (nice in the mornings to get up to). It means our house is warm, but doesn’t have that cosy wood fire feel. Gas is also much cheaper when we need to run it (off and on) from April – October.
I LOVE Autumn, it is my favourite season, the days start of crisp (the air feels so clean) but sunny, turning into mild sunny days (so nice to sit in the garden) and then cool/cold nights perfect for wrapping up in a soft blanket on the couch or going to bed early to read). I also love the changes in the garden as it starts to prepare for winter.
Have a nice weekend
Jo
Dear Jillian,
I cook on the wood stove all year round in fact we have no other stove at all.
Our children have all learnt to cook on it and the they sya they would never be able to cook on anything else. LOL
Praying for your husband and that it goes well.
August is a long eay away though
have a great weekend
Blessings
I love seeing all that wood, Jillian! The warmth of your home in winter will be a constant reminder of God’s love for you and your family.
Enjoy your weekend!
Hi Jo,
We are trying to decide what to do about heating when my husband can no longer cut firewood, but as I have a severe allergy to gas, we need to look at other options. We did have a reverse cycle air conditioner in our last home, but it never felt very warm. Your climate sounds very similar in winter to where we are, as we also need to run the fire from April to October, and sometimes into November.
Autumn is absolutely beautiful here – it is going to be 27C for the next four days – wonderful!
Have a wonderful and blessed weekend,
Love, Jillian ♥
Hi Gae,
Wow – cooking on a wood stove is quite an art, but we have a friend who had a wood stove, and things taste so much nicer cooked on them.
Your children are very blessed to have been taught to cook on a wood stove – it’s something that they will remember for life.
Thank you for praying for my husband – August is becoming closer every day!
I will be so glad when it is all over and his recuperation is over, too.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Love and blessings, Jillian ♥
Hi Richele,
God’s provision over us is absolutely amazing, for before my husband took the giant leap of faith and trusted God that his knee would be alright to go and cut wood, we were wondering how we would heat our home throughout the long, cold winter that we have. We shouldn’t have worried, for God knew the plans that He had for us!
I need to remember to look up when Satan sows seeds of doubt, as God’s love never fails us, and He is always there to provide for us..
Have a wonderful and blessed weekend,
Love, Jillian ♥
Dear Jillian,
In response to your question about discussing the topic of censorship on your blog – that is fine we me – the more people who are aware of it the better.
It is such a controversial topic – as I was writing it I undecided to what side of the fence I sat. Yes, we should close down these horrible sites but what would be the next step (depending on what government we had in power), banning politics sites, religious sites etc.. That’s the bit that is scary.
I have also responded on my own blog to your question (added a little extra).
God Bless
Jo
Hi Jo,
This is just Communism in action, and I thought that we lived in a Democratic country???
Thank you – I am composing a post now, and I agree with you. I would like to see these horrible sites closed down, but this is not the way.
I don’t think that it will shut down the paedophile rings or stop the explicit s*xual acts on the internet, as those sorts of people will work out a way to get around the new censorship laws. What next??? Banning photos of Jesus because they’re too provocative???
I shall be posting soon – thank you for giving me the opportunity to add my two pennyworth to the discussion.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Love and blessings, Jillian ♥
Looking forward to reading it.
I am having a wonderful weekend, the weather is just glorious. Hope you are to:)
Hi Jo,
It’s posted now!

Have a great weekend,
