Mary had a Little Lamb
I have never read “Mary had a Little Lamb” written like this before – have you?
Mary had a little lamb,
His fleece was white as snow,
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school each day,
‘Twasn’t even in the rule.
He made the children laugh and play,
To see a Lamb at school.
And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became,
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His name.
Everyday got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gunshots and tears.
What must we do to stop the crime,
That’s in our schools today?
Let’s let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray.

I am a daughter of the King of Kings, seeking to live a godly life and mirror the love of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

That is really neat. And so very true.
Hi Tricia,
Since the schools have taken God out of them, the crime rate has soared. In England, they reintroduced religious instruction, and surprise, surprise, the crime rate dropped!
Have a wonderful and blessed week,
Love Jillian ♥
I have never heard this version where did you find it?
You just reminded me of something – when I went to primary school (back in the 1970′s) we had a man (who lived in his caravan) who would visit the schools in SA and teach the stories of the bible and the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. We would go and listen to him at lunch and after school. I have a photo of us kids lying on the school oval whilst this man preached taken by the local newspaper – I can’t remember his name. Thinking back, this wouldn’t be allowed anymore – as I doubt he was vetted by the Education Department.
Hi Jo,
A friend of mine emailed it to me – isn’t it beautiful?
I also went to primary school in the ’70′s, and I remember religious instruction very well. Everybody looked forward to it each week.
Have a wonderful week,
Love and blessings, Jillian ♥
That is an interesting version for sure!
I used to teach Religious Instruction to several classes every week, a few years ago. What an amazing mission field the school’s are! Sadly, there are very few labourers available for this field, and the children in our public schools continue to not hear about the Gospel, or the Name Jesus (except in cursing perhaps). My RI students were always excited for my lessons and whilst I made it fun, I focussed on the Truth I was/am an ambassador for.
Blessings to you Jillian. Hope your feeling better and that your treatment is in full force
Hi Amanda,
I really liked this version of Mary had a Little Lamb.
These days with the amount of different religions, the schools are reticent to allow anyone into the schools to teach religious instruction – sad really. We have friends who work with the Gideons and deliver Bibles into schools, but they have to get the permission of the school, who in turn have to gain the permission of the parents.
My husband allowed me to sleep today, as I have been feeling very tired, and my back is much better today. Perhaps there is a lesson in that??? Maybe I need to rest more???
The patches are making a BIG difference to the amount of pain that I am having, and the exercises are helping to relax the muscles. It sounds like it will be a very long road, though.
Have a wonderful week,
Love and blessings, Jillian ♥
