Tea Time

I’m Having:~
A Rosehip and Hibiscus tea with one sugar, that my son has made for me in my insulated stainless steel cup.
I’m Feeling:~
Elated -
- As my husband has cleaned up all of the autumn leaves from around our home.
- My son has achieved the standard of writing that we were looking for.
- The housework is nearly completed for another week.
and
- My husband’s pain is managed well, now, thanks to a new doctor who was willing to go the extra mile.
On My Mind:~
- My husband’s knee – his pain is much more bearable since we saw another doctor last week, and his quality of life has improved dramatically.
- Our new church building – praying that building will commence soon.
- Homeschooling – sometimes we see learning occuring, but at other times we see a jump in progress that both amazes and astounds us. Praise God that He knows the learning is taking place!
- The independence of Christian schools in South Australia is under threat, after a new Directive B4 was approved after Parliament rose on 8 December, 2009, which reads:
“The Board does not accept as satisfactory a science curriculum in a non-government school which is based on, espouses or reflects the literal interpretation of a religious text in its treatment of creationism or intelligent design”.
The Family First party is strongly opposed to this new directive, and already, FAMILY FIRST has received a complaint from a Christian school that was told to pull down a poster from their classroom that didn’t meet this requirement.
This is unacceptable, and a serious threat to the freedom and independence of our wonderful Christian Schools in South Australia.
What you can your church or school do?
FAMILY FIRST is steadfast in its opposition to these new rules, and will move to revoke the rule in the next session of Parliament.
- The South Australian State Election will be held on 20 March, and FAMILY FIRST is asking for your support. The most important thing you can do is help us with your vote – to ensure that FAMILY FIRST Member (Robert Brokenshire) is re-elected to the Upper House of State Parliament to fight this new rule. Along with Dennis Hood (who is not up for re-election this year), this will give us the numbers to challenge the new rule.
- Please send this message of concern on to your church and school mailing lists so that more people are aware of the concerning new rule.
- Volunteer to hand out How to Vote cards on Election Day (March 20) for FAMILY FIRST at a polling booth near you. If you are willing to adopt a polling booth for the entire day, or even if you are just able to help for a few hours, please leave your details with the Family First Secretariat (8265-9442).
Thank you for stopping by to enjoy Tea Time with me, and to Ruth from Celebrate Friendship for hosting this wonderful meme. Please drop by to see other wonderful Tea Talks. Hooray – I finally posted Tea Talk on a Thursday – I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me!

I did not know about that new rule. Thank you for sharing.
Praise God that hubby’s pain is better controlled.
Hi Jeanne,
You’re very welcome.
I praise God that He strengthens us through all things, and that my husband’s pain is better managed.
Have a wonderful week,
Blessings,

Dear Jillian,
It is good news about your husband. Sometimes a new doctor can make a difference. Looking at it with new eyes.
It seems we have to be on top of political stuff all the time don’t we?
Thanks for the updates.
Praying that it gets changed. How did it get passed in the first place?
Blessings and have a great week

Hi, nice to tea with this week. I’m sorry about your husband’s knee, thanking god for this new doctor. My husband had knee surgery this past November, due to a fall, knee pain is not a fun thing.
Have a wonderful blessed day,
Katia
Pain can be so hard to overcome-even harder for men when we rely on them so much. I am so glad that your husband is doing better!
Thank you for your encouragement and kind words on my blog lately. They always come at the right moment!
Thank you for sharing this information!
Praise God for answered prayers for your hubby!
Need to look into the other matter when I have a few moments, just popped in to see how your hubby was doing as you’ve all been in my prayers.
Hi Gae,
The new doctor seemed more interested in finding a solution to the problem.
I can’t believe that a bill like this was passed in the first place! *shakes head*
Have a wonderful and blessed weekend,
Jillian ♥
Hi Katia,
Welcome!
No, knee pain is certainly not a fun thing, and it affects every aspect of life. How is your husband’s knee going after the surgery?
Have a wonderful and blessed weekend,
Jillian ♥
Hi Christy,
My husband has been looking after me for the last 25 years, and looking after a chronic asthmatic is not easy. During that time, he has learned how to give injections, set up a nebuliser and knows when I need them – I don’t even have to say anything.
It’s really hard for him to have to rely on others, as he is usually the one doing all of the work.
I enjoy reading your blog, and am enjoying getting to know you.
Have a wonderful and blessed weekend,
Jillian ♥
Hi Rosemary,
I praise God every day for answered prayer. My hubby is finding it much easier to move around now.
Thankyou for praying for us – it is very much appreciated.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Blessings,
Jillian ♥
Hi Jillian,
How sweet of your son to make you a cup of tea. This is my first time to hear a hibiscus kind of tea. It must be good. Glad to hear your husband’s knee is better now. I pray for speedy and complete healing.
Hope you have a blessed time the rest of the week.
Ruth
P.S.
I almost missed this post. I noticed your post is not yet on our MckLinky list. Please leave us your link so others can visit you. Thanks!
Hi Ruth,
Rosehip and Hibiscus tea is delicious!
Sorry, I was so excited to actually post my blogpost on time that I forgot to add the link. :/
My husband has to have his knee replaced in August.
