Sunset Last Night

Sunset

My daughter makes a habit of taking photos of beautiful sunsets and presenting them to me as a gift. This one was taken last night and the colours are absolutely spectacular, don’t you agree? Our Creator God created all of these colours and more just for His pleasure and so that we could worship Him for His Creation.

Praise God – It’s Raining Again!

Rainy Night

Rainy Night in Lights

Praise God for the rain – we have had 30 mm of rain so far, and it’s still raining steadily. It’s such a welcome relief after all of the hot weather that we have been having.

Yesterday I went to the doctors and I now have a chest infection – boy, can I really relate to Job at the moment, but like Job, it is strengthening my faith in God, knowing that all things work together for good to them that love God.

Today I have spent all day on the computer compiling the paperwork necessary for our home school review, but it is now finished – 11 hours later, but I can honestly say that I did all things to the glory of God.

Where am I now – still on the computer, and my husband is feeling like a computer widow, so I’ll say nighty night, and I’m off to bed, too.

You Can Even Taste the Dust

Today I awoke to yet another dust storm. While I don’t really like the dust, it does have a beneficial effect, as with the dust comes the rain. Our farmers will be very appreciative of any rain at this time of year, as every millimetre of rain helps the grain to fill out, and the price at the silos is much higher for well filled out grain. Some of the farmers that we have spoken to lately have said, “If we don’t get a good year this year, we will be here looking for a feed.”

My husband braved the elements and took these photos for me, and he said that you can even taste the dust, so I don’t think that I shall be venturing outside today.
Please join me in praying for our farmers, for they are the lifeblood of this wonderful country of ours.praying hands

Extreme Heatwave

It has been so hot here today, and the Bureau of Meteorology has promised us more of the same over the next few days. Yet, on the news tonight, Queensland is in the midst of a severe flood.

The temperature that I really enjoy the most is in the range from 30-35C. You see, I am a chronic asthmatic and I don’t perspire, so I just continually get hotter and hotter. Thank goodness for air conditioning!

However, the weather, when I went to school, was just as hot for a couple of weeks each year, and we didn’t even have air conditioning. I even remember swimming in the Murray River when I was a child. That was in the days when there was water to swim in!

Our children have given the swimming pool a real workout over the last few weeks, and undoubtedly will over the next few weeks, too. The decking is a wonderful asset (my husband did an excellent job installing it), and it has been interesting teaching our children how to dive into the water, so that we can avoid wasting water.

And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
