Tea Talk

Tea Talk

Tea Talk is a meme set up by Ruth to draw friends closer together and to Celebrate Friendship. If you would like to join in the fun and friendship, please visit Celebrate Friendship to add your own reflection of what Tea Time means to you.

I’m Having:~

A cup of Milo in a china cup, while my husband is having a Moccona Mystique in a white mug with a gold rim. My cup was bought for me by my friend, Janice, as she thought that it suited me, and I love it, as it is so flowery and delicate.

I’m Feeling:~

  • happy that my husband is having his knee x-rayed tomorrow and that he sees the orthopaedic surgeon next week. Praise God that he has medication that keeps the pain more or less under control.
  • elated that our housework is finished, and I praise God that my son has taken on the vacuuming and mopping, as my husband isn’t able to do these chores.

On My Mind:~

  • our new church building – praying that building will begin soon.
  • Dominic Johannson – praying that he will be swiftly reunited with his parents.
  • the homeschooling laws currently under review in Sweden.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 1 John 4:7

Tea Time

I’m Having:~

A Rosehip and Hibiscus tea with one sugar, that my son has made for me in my insulated stainless steel cup.

I’m Feeling:~

Elated -

  • As my husband has cleaned up all of the autumn leaves from around our home.
  • My son has achieved the standard of writing that we were looking for.
  • The housework is nearly completed for another week.

and

  • My husband’s pain is managed well, now, thanks to a new doctor who was willing to go the extra mile.

On My Mind:~

  • My husband’s knee – his pain is much more bearable since we saw another doctor last week, and his quality of life has improved dramatically.
  • Our new church building – praying that building will commence soon.
  • Homeschooling – sometimes we see learning occuring, but at other times we see a jump in progress that both amazes and astounds us. Praise God that He knows the learning is taking place!
  • The independence of Christian schools in South Australia is under threat, after a new Directive B4 was approved after Parliament rose on 8 December, 2009, which reads:

“The Board does not accept as satisfactory a science curriculum in a non-government school which is based on, espouses or reflects the literal interpretation of a religious text in its treatment of creationism or intelligent design”.

The Family First party is strongly opposed to this new directive, and already, FAMILY FIRST has received a complaint from a Christian school that was told to pull down a poster from their classroom that didn’t meet this requirement.

This is unacceptable, and a serious threat to the freedom and independence of our wonderful Christian Schools in South Australia.

What you can your church or school do?

FAMILY FIRST is steadfast in its opposition to these new rules, and will move to revoke the rule in the next session of Parliament.

  1. The South Australian State Election will be held on 20 March, and FAMILY FIRST is asking for your support. The most important thing you can do is help us with your vote – to ensure that   FAMILY FIRST Member (Robert Brokenshire) is  re-elected to the Upper House of State Parliament to fight this new rule.  Along with Dennis Hood (who is not up for re-election this year), this will give us the numbers to challenge the new rule.
  2. Please send this message of concern on to your church and school mailing lists so that more people are aware of the concerning new rule.
  3. Volunteer to hand out How to Vote cards on Election Day (March 20) for FAMILY FIRST at a polling booth near you. If you are willing to adopt a polling booth for the entire day, or even if you are just able to help for a few hours, please leave your details with the Family First Secretariat (8265-9442).

Thank you for stopping by to enjoy Tea Time with me, and to Ruth from Celebrate Friendship for hosting this wonderful meme. Please drop by to see other wonderful Tea Talks. Hooray – I finally posted Tea Talk on a Thursday – I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me!

Tea Time

Tea Talk

I’m having:~

Dilmah Green Tea in an insulated stainless steel cup, which although it is not very pretty, is very practical, especially during school time, as the tea stays warm for a very long time.

My Cup:~

Tea Cup

Looking at the photo of my tea cup, I noticed that this tea cup is much more beautiful than I thought it was, as it reflects the beauty of the items around it. Isn’t that what we are like? As Christians – we are called on to reflect the glory of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, but I think that we are I am just like the tea cup. It depends upon the surroundings that we are in, as to how much of God’s glory and beauty is reflected, and yet, God’s glory should be reflected in all and through all.

I’m feeling:~

  • very refreshed after a sleep in this morning.
  • happy that we have found a church where we feel loved and feel as if we belong.

On my mind :~

  • my husband’s knee, which is still very painful.
  • our new church building – praying that building will begin soon.
  • the new kid yards, so that we can lock the kids away from the nannies. We have some kids that are little escape artists, squeezing through even the tiniest holes and fences.
  • swimming – the hot weather is still here with us, and my husband has vacuumed the swimming pool, so we are going for a swim today.

Thank you for stopping in to share Tea Time with me, and to Ruth from Celebrate Friendship for hosting Tea Time each week. May we continue to share the blessings of God through Tea Time each week. If you would like to participate in this meme, feel free to visit Ruth and join in the fun. If you are not a tea drinker, just grab your favourite drink and join in the friendship.

Tea Talk

My friend, Gae at Cherished ♥♥♥ at Home has been participating in a theme called Tea Talk, that is hosted by Ruth each week. I should like to make my contribution, also.

Tea Talk

I’m having:~

  • Dilmah Green tea – the health benefits of Green tea are absolutely amazing, but Green tea is definitely not Green tea – Dilmah would have to be my favourite, as there are some other brands that are extremely bitter. My cup is a stainless steel insulating cup that keeps my tea warm even while we homeschool. Maybe it’s not very pretty, but it is extremely practical.

I’m feeling:~

  • very refreshed after a l-o-n-g sleep in today. God brings us times of refreshing. (Acts 3:19)

On my mind :~

  • my husband’s knee, which is very painful – I’m praying for God’s Almighty healing hand upon him.
  • our new church building – may God’s hand be upon it, guiding and directing us along the way. I’m praying that the building application will be approved, and that the building work can begin.
  • the chicken and turkey poults that managed to keep my husband awake for most of last night, chasing watermelon rind around their box.
  • the new books that we have bought this week – God’s Outlaw and Between Two Tigers.

Please visit Ruth at Celebrate Friendship to join in this weekly Thursday event and to visit other Tea Timers.
