The Simple Woman’s Daybook

Outside my window…the sky is blue, the sun is shining and there is no sign of rain.

I am thinking… about my friend and her family who are coming to visit with us today.

I am thankful for… the first term holidays, so that I can refocus my energy.

From the kitchen…there is peace and quiet. The dishes are washed, dried and put away and it is clean.

I am wearing… burgundy and cream skirt and a dusky pink lambswool three-quarter sleeved top and bare feet.

I am reading… Eyes of the Tailless Animals by Soon Ok Lee.

I am hoping… that our friends have a safe journey up here, and that God will bring us lots of rain to top up our rainwater tanks.

I am creating… a home where the Lord is welcomed and revered.

I am praying…. that our children will be honest, gentle, kind and morally upright people as they continue to grow in the Lord.

Around the house… my son is typing on his computer, my computer is extremely noisy, the sound of my husband shifting the ladder, and I hear the sound of coat hangers clanging together as my daughter completes her ironing.

One of my favorite things… cuddling up with my cat in bed, after he wakes me up with a nuzzle and gentle nip on my nose.

A few plans for the rest of the week… shopping, housework.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you… and no, the cat’s name is not Sylvester!

The Simple Woman’s Daybook

Outside my window… are tall gum trees, robinias that are losing their leaves and roses

I am thinking…about my mum and dad and how they are coming up to see us, about the weekend
From the learning rooms…our children are still working diligently at their school work

I am thankful for…our home, children, God’s provision over us and our goats which provide us with much milk

From the kitchen…there is the smell of coffee

I am wearing…a lacy green peasant style skirt with a white blouse

I am reading…Jesus Freaks 2 – Revolutionaries

I am hoping…that our children will be finished their school work by the time that Mum and Dad arrive

I am creating…a home for our children that they will love

I am hearing…the sound of my noisy Pentium 4 computer and there is the sound of my son’s propelling pencil

Around the house…I can hear the sound of my husband walking in through the back door

One of my favorite things…is my family and my 10 kilogram cat

A few plans for the rest of the week…banking, shopping, a homeschooling family’s visit, our new stove will be installed on Saturday
