Australia’s "New" National Anthem???
This poem is sung to Be Thou My Vision. It was written as an inspiration for our children during their Creative Writing for today. My son wrote a poem which is sung to Joy to the World, and my daughter wrote a poem which is sung to What Can Wash Away My Sin? The inspiration definitely worked, and I rather enjoyed writing it. Often, I write for Creative Writing, as it helps our children to realise what is expected of them.
By night and by day,
We’ll walk not in darkness,
For He lights the way.
God’s plans for Australia,
Are all His design,
If we walk in His ways,
His ways will be mine.
God’s thoughts should be our thoughts,
Our mind should be His,
Our country would be better,
If God could do this.
Australia, our country,
God’s country, too,
Let’s not forget Him,
Or Australia will, too.
South Land of the Spirit,
God’s victory won,
When we fight for God’s way,
And follow His Son.
God’s ways and our ways,
Are always at odds,
‘Cause ourselves we just think of,
When it should be God’s.
I am a daughter of the King of Kings, seeking to live a godly life and mirror the love of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
