Who’s Observant?

I wonder who’s observant and has noticed that I have added a new page to my blog called Our Hobby Farm. I have added a couple of photo collages to this page so that you can see our goats and our cats. The chickens and turkeys are coming soon. Thank you to Sarah for telling me about Picasa. It’s so easy and fun to use!

In Picasa you can make beautiful and interesting photo collages, mosaics, scattered photos and even imbed a central photo. Picasa is free to download, and this photo editing software even organises your photos to make it easier to create your own wonderful slideshows.

FREE TOS Holiday Book

2009 Holiday Digital Supplement/Idea Book

I read at Devildogwife from Marine Corps Nomads that The Old Schoolhouse® are giving away a FREE Holiday Idea Book, and thought that it would be nice to share it here. I don’t know about you, but these magazines are very expensive so it is nice to be able to sit down and have a good read without the huge price tag. This Christmas I am hoping to experiment with more home-made items and to honour Christ in our celebrations.

Beautiful Girlhood by Mabel Hale

Created to be His Helpmeet

My daughter and I have been reading Beautiful Girlhood by Mabel Hale. This book is a timeless guide to Christian adolescence, and we bought it from Koorong, although the link above will take you to the Timeless Truths Free Online Library, where it is available FREE through public domain.

Girlhood is the opening flower of womanhood. It has charms all its own. The wonderful change from the child to the woman, the marvelous blossoming of young, healthy girlhood, will ever be God’s great miracle in life’s garden. Like a half-open rose is girlhood.

We have been reading a chapter a week, and my daughter really looks forward to each week’s episode. It covers such issues as friendships, modesty, truthfulness, character building, sincerity and ideals, and is, in my opinion, an excellent book for a young girl growing up in God’s family.

Parents Creed

This morning, I (with a lot of help from my son) made a poster of the Parent’s Creed for a good friend, whose blog is Stumblin’ and Bumblin’ Along. It is excellent food for thought, so I thought that I’d make it available here, too.

This is just a preview of the poster; it will print to an A4 page size.

Download it here:~

When you go to the link, right click on the image, and select save image as, and save to your computer.

Many thanks to: Sage for the FREE border download.
