All’s Well that Ends Well

Yesterday my husband ordered 150kg of swimming pool sand from One Stop Water Shop in Port Pirie, with instructions that it be delivered to our town depot by Toll, but somewhere in the translation, Town and Country couriers picked it up instead.

Then, when Toll went to pick it up, Michael said that it had already been picked up by Town and Country couriers. Can you imagine our surprise when we went into town (with the trailer, as we had shopping in the boot) to pick it up, and they said that it wasn’t there to be picked up?

When we arrived home, my husband phoned the after hours number for the owner, but to his surprise, One Stop Water Shop had changed owners. Fortunately, he gave us the mobile phone number of the new owner, and we knew him well, as he used to own Homeflair Furnishings, and we had bought furniture from him. My husband phoned him and explained who we were and what had happened, and Michael told us that he would deliver the sand, and that he would be here in about an hour.

That’s definitely service, as we are about 80 kilometres from Port Pirie! Michael arrived at about 9:15 last night with the sand and a smile, so now our swimming pool is being cleaned properly, and hopefully by tomorrow we will be able to go for a swim.

Praise God for people who are willing to “go the extra mile – quite literally” in customer service and satisfaction.

Exceptional Service from Dyson

Approximately one year and eleven months ago, we purchased our first Dyson vacuum cleaner, and it has been an excellent machine, vacuuming our home an average of six days a week.

Just recently, the cord wasn’t rewinding properly and the turbo head wasn’t working properly, so my husband phoned Dyson to see how much warranty we had left. They informed us that the vacuum cleaner was still under warranty, and as we live in the country almost 230 kilometres from Adelaide, and there is no Star Track depot in the nearby town, that they would arrange pick up from our door. That was on Monday; they then delivered it to Sure Vision in Adelaide and delivered it back to us on Thursday.

They replaced the cord assembly and the turbo head for us, too, and it’s a different vacuum cleaner altogether. How’s that for service – definitely credit where credit is due?
