Sisters in Faith Award

Sisters in Faith Award

Therese, from The Musings of a Mom has very kindly bestowed this Sisters in Faith award upon me, and I truly do thank her from the bottom of my ♥. Her friendship and encouragement have been very much appreciated, and her faith is truly inspirational, but seeing that she has already received the award, I felt that it would be superfluous of me to give this award to her. The originator of this award is Karinann, so please pop over and check out her blog.

This blog award is passed on to other bloggers who you feel are represented by the Sisters in Faith Award, and the instructions are:

  1. To pass this award on to sisters who have been blogging with me from almost the beginning.
  2. Include at least one new Sister In Faith.

So, in the spirit of friendship I would like to nominate…

Ganeida from Ganeida’s Knots
Sue from Praise and Coffee
Susan from Home Grown Kids
Aliadelaide from Homeschooling Downunder
Devildogwife from Marine Corps Nomads
Gae from Cherished ♥♥♥ at Home
Ruby from Mumma’s Place
Jeanne from A Peaceful Day
Sarah from Eternity in Your ♥
Therese from Aussie Coffee Shop

…for their encouragement, their ability to write thought-provoking comments and posts, so that I look inside myself to see what Jesus sees, and their genuine friendship. However, my list wouldn’t be complete without adding one last, but not so least friend – this is my new Sister in Faith:~

Six Unknown Facts About Me

Blogger award

Ganeida from Ganeida’s Knots has very kindly bestowed this award upon me, and now, all (gulp) that I have to do is to tell you six unknown things about myself, and pass the award on to six Gorgeous Bloggers.

Well here goes:~

  • I was born in Broken Hill at the Broken Hill Base Hospital, and we lived in Sulphide Street in Broken Hill. I was eighteen months old when we moved to Adelaide so that my dad could join the Police force, and my nanna brought me up so that my mum could go out to work. My nanna was a wonderful lady – I remember going to town with her, and she bought me lunch at the cafeteria , and if I had been really good, she would pay for me to go onto a ride on the rooftop. I also remember taking my clothes off when we were going home on the bus – I must have caused a few problems for her, but I suffer with the heat – I still do, although I don’t remove my clothes these days.
  • We started homeschooling in May 2002 – Isn’t it wonderful how God prepares us for the things of life, even before we know what He is preparing us for? All of the years that I studied typing and bookkeeping were not in vain, for now I am able to pass those skills on to our children. My son is currently typing 61.8 wpm, and my daughter is typing at 61.6 wpm with 100% accuracy, using Typequick Professional through Australian Christian College.
  • We travelled around in a caravan for several years when we were first married, and travelled up and down the east coast of Australia. Our caravan had queen sized bed, shower and toilet, washing machine and dryer, 22 cu ft fridge/freezer, microwave, computer, stereo, VCR and two televisions; and all of this was contained in 26 feet. In the lounge area we had a couple of beanbags to sit on.
  • We bought our first home in 1990, and it was such a tiny home, but we have progressed onward and upward with each move, and our daughter had lived in seven homes by the time that she was seven.
  • We made the curtains for the Tumby Bay AOG church just before we moved here, in the lounge room of our previous home – the loungeroom was 40′ x 20′, and we needed every inch of room to be able to join the curtains. One of my friends did four cartwheels down the middle of our loungeroom.
  • The Bible that I use comes from Creation Research, and is an excellent resource for homeschooling, as it helps us to “Understand the Critical Issues of the Faith from a Literal Creationist Viewpoint”. It is called the New Defender’s Study Bible, is the only study Bible stressing the defense of Biblical Christian faith from the perspective of literal creationism and absolute Biblical authority, and it includes:~
  1. Introductory notes on each Bible book
  2. Greatly expanded commentary notes
  3. End-of-Verse references
  4. Words of Christ in red
  5. Concordance
  6. 21 topical appendices for understanding biblical authority and accuracy
  7. Maps

Now, for the part that I love and that is easy – passing the gift on to six seven other bloggers, and these are in no particular order, but I am hoping that these bloggers will pass on the ♥♥♥ to their friends. How do you keep it down to six friends – aargh??? Answer – I couldn’t, so I have taken the liberty of making it seven!

Loyalty and Friendship Award

Gae from Cherished Hearts at Home has bestowed this loyalty award on me, and I thank her from the bottom of my ♥. This award is to be passed on to those who faithfully follow my blog, giving encouragement and forming friendships that help us to build one another up in the Lord. Thank you to all my blogging friends who take the time to leave comments so that I don’t feel as if I am just “talking” to myself.

I would like to pass this blogging award on to some of my faithful blogging friends who have blessed me by leaving comments and encouraging me in my walk with the Lord. These are in no particular order, for you have all been friends who have been with me, encouraging and helping me through the noteworthy times and the rather mediocre ones, as well.
